Speaker: Mr. Georges Desvaux, Managing Partner, McKinsey Japan
Time and Date: 19:00 - 21:00, Monday, June 24, 2013
Venue: GLOBIS University, Tokyo, Japan
Language: English
Duration: 1:51:39
Event Description:
In many Asian countries, the percentage of working women, especially in senior management positions, has been low compared to Europe or North America. It is particularly so in Japan, where, for example, less than 2% of board members at top companies are women. Why is it so low, why does it matter, and what can business leaders do to initiate the change? Are we serious enough?

In this Professional Seminar, Mr. Georges Desvaux, the managing partner of McKinsey’s Japan office, co-author of the consulting firm’s “Women Matter” report series, speaks on the issue of gender diversity in business, with emphasis on diversity in leadership positions. He shares facts and insights brought from McKinsey & Company’s extensive research projects (many of which he led), and discuss what can be done to open up more female talent to realize the future growth of corporations.

Mr. Desvaux's presentation will be followed by a dialogue between two male top executives: Mr. Desvaux from McKinsey & Company and Mr. Tomoya Nakamura, Dean at GLOBIS University.
