Evernote Founder: How Tech Startups can Break Through in Japan

Phil Libin, the Founder and former CEO of Evernote and current Co-founder and CEO of All Turtles, shares his ideas from Silicon Valley as to how tech startups can succeed in Japan. Under Phil’s leadership, Evernote became one of the most popular note-taking and work collaboration apps with over 200 million users worldwide. Phil is a Senior Advisor at VC firm General Catalyst and board member of the companies he invested in while serving as Managing Director for the company. Previously, Phil founded and served as CEO of 2 startups, both of which were acquired. A popular and humorous speaker, Phil has keynoted in the U.S. and abroad, and is recognized as an expert on entrepreneurship and start-up investment. Phil speaks passionately about startups, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence and the benefits of intermittent fasting.

Mr. Calvo is an independent strategic advisor and professor, with 32 years of corporate experience as former Executive Officer at Roland DG Corporation Japan, President Global SCM Division HQ, and President & CEO in EMEA. His experience spans the fields of global operations management, global supply chain management, organizational change development and business strategy development, within the digital manufacturing industry.

Beyond this, Mr. Calvo has experience as a Visiting Professor ESADE Business School, Barcelona, Professor of Global Supply Chain Management at OBS Business School, Barcelona University, and is a Board Director and member of the Japan Operations Management & Strategy Association, as well as a member of the Council of Supply Chain Professionals, the Institute for Supply Chain Management, the Academy of Management. He is also a keynote speaker on Strategy, Change and Leadership.
